Why Is My Student Not Moving to a New List in Fluency From a List?

For a student to move to Master a Fluency List and move to the next list, they need: 

• 3 stars in a row

To get a star the student needs to:

• meet their GOAL and
  
• have 3 or fewer errors in the attempt

If you find that your student is having trouble achieving Mastery on a list, consider lowing the student's goal so they can slow down a bit to meet their words read in a minute goal with stronger accuracy.
